Who We Are

Building Pathways from Crisis to Stability

Your Help Is On The Way Foundation was established to respond to Milwaukee’s urgent need for safe housing and supportive pathways for individuals and families in crisis — with a special focus on returning citizens who face the greatest barriers.

We operate DHS-registered sober living and recovery residences that create structured stability for those transitioning from incarceration. But we don’t stop at housing. Our signature program guides participants all the way to homeownership — building generational wealth for a population systematically excluded from it.

“Your Help Is On The Way Foundation empowers individuals and families in crisis by providing safe housing, supportive services, and access to essential resources that restore hope, dignity, and stability.”

There is a moment, if you are fortunate enough to find it, when the pain you have carried becomes the purpose you were meant to serve. For Latrisa Giles, that moment gave rise to one of Milwaukee's most compelling nonprofit stories.

"Every returning citizen who completes our program has a pathway to owning their own home."

Founder and CEO

Latrisa Giles founded YHIOTW in December 2024 and built it from the ground up to a DHS-registered 501(c)(3) multi-program nonprofit generating $48,000 in first-year revenue in just 14 months. She holds a Bachelor of Business Management from Cardinal Stritch University and brings 17 years of Human Resources experience including her tenure as HR Director at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design.

Vision and Impact

Under her leadership YHIOTW operates Safe Haven and Support, Pathways to Stability, Respite Care, and From Reentry to Stability, a DOJ Bureau of Justice Assistance-funded program. She has cultivated partnerships with the Wisconsin DOC, Milwaukee Community Land Trust, BMO Bank, UW-Milwaukee, and the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, pursuing over $1,000,000 in federal and foundation funding in her first year.
